How to do clipping

What clipping is, the format rules that get views, how to submit, and how pay works at Sand Media — free to join, house cut by level when you earn.

What clipping is

Clipping is cutting short, scroll-stopping content for a brand or offer and posting it on real social accounts — usually TikTok. The job is not “make an ad.” It is make content people choose to watch, then track every post so pay is honest. A lot of our network work today is photo posts and carousels; the same format gate applies.

Resources, not only lessons

The free community includes teaching and usable assets: packs, creatives, and playbooks. Join Discord to get them; campaign tools in the app unlock when you are on the team.

What good clips look like

Sand Media uses the same four checks in review. On-format posts dramatically outperform off-format ones on this operation's own data — treat these as non-negotiable:

  • Native text overlay, not a Canva caption card — The platform down-ranks imported graphics and viewers scroll past anything that looks like an ad.
  • Listicle hook, numbered or enumerated — A counted promise tells someone how long the payoff takes, which is what stops the scroll.
  • Real person in frame in the first second — A face holds attention long enough for the hook to be read at all.
  • Full hook readable within one second — If it takes two seconds to read, the view is already gone.

The workflow

  • Learn the format in the free Discord community.
  • Cut the clip, post from the account you are assigned (or registering).
  • Paste the TikTok link in the Sand Media app and submit — once. That is how streaks and money both count.
  • Views sync from the live link. Managers approve; agency handoff happens on the sheet.

How pay works here

Joining is free. There is no paid membership. When you earn on campaign work, Sand Media keeps a house cut based on your clipper level — exact terms are in the app. Withdrawals use agency-confirmed amounts, not estimates.

Managed network, not a marketplace

Open clipping marketplaces pay thousands of strangers per view. That scales fast and is where fake views creep in. Sand Media runs a managed network: people we onboard, accounts we can stand behind, never botted.

Common mistakes

  • Posting without submitting the link in the app.
  • Canva caption cards instead of native TikTok text.
  • Hooks that take more than a second to read.
  • Chasing volume for one day instead of posting every day.
